Family
Shelter is governed by a volunteer board of directors. The Board of Directors is
the active legal body of the Family Shelter. Board members serve for a
three-year term. Elected board members may serve two consecutive terms and are
not eligible for Board membership again until they have been off the Board for
at least one year. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings, serve
on at least one committee, advocate on behalf of homeless families and their
issues. Board members are expected to make some sort of financial commitment.
